South Walton Recycling Locations & Curb-Side Programs

South Walton Recycling Trailers

A little over a week ago I received a comment on my 9 Surprising Facts About Relocating To Santa Rosa Beach blog in regards to South Walton recycling locations.

The comment came from a visitor who had just recently returned from a vacation to our beautiful Santa Rosa Beach area.

Here is what the comment said:

Just got back from Santa Rosa beach. We loved it! However it appeared their was a lack of “real” interest in recycling. It was amazing what our families alone generated in a week’s vacation…..I was ashamed that we pretty well gave up after learning there did not appear to be a program in place for our complex? We stayed at Witt’s End…..Anything I can do to “kick start” a program, let me know.

Thanks Charles Thomason

Charles’ comment got me motivated and I started doing some research to find out more about recycling drop-off areas in South Walton.

While we don’t have recycling pick-up, we do have several recycling trailers located around the county. [See Map]

These trailers are the preferred way of recycling because it is already separated.

Currently, the trailers accept the following:

  • Newspaper
  • Plastic
  • Glass
  • Tin
  • Steel
  • Aluminum cans
  • Corrugated cardboard

SoWal Recycling

I have recently learned of a couple of young people who have taken it upon themselves to help with South Walton recycling.

SoWal Recycles was founded by Cyrus and Grace of Santa Rosa Beach. Cyrus and Grace offer curb-side and door to door pick up by filling out the contact form on their website.

SoWal Recycling offers 3 different packages, and even caters to businesses as well.

Packages range from $5.00/week pickups to a $25.00 on-demand pickup.

Since it’s not as convenient to recycle in South Walton, these two are offering an excellent alternative.
